Amazing – you have reached the halfway mark!

Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces.

Your baby is producing meconium, a black substance that is the result of cell loss, digestive secretion, and swallowed amniotic fluid. The meconium actually accumulates in the baby’s bowels, and you’ll probably see it in the first messy diaper.

You’ve likely gained about 10 pounds, and you can expect to gain approximately another pound each week from now on.

Iron-rich foods include lean red meat, poultry, fish, lentils and other legumes, spinach, and iron-fortified cereals.  Eat lots of them, as your body needs it!!

You may want to consider looking into a childbirth education class.  Many hospitals offer these types of classes.  Plan to be finished the classes by 37 weeks (when you are considered full-term).
