No more drinking, smoking, and taking any other drugs (even over-the-counter ones).  You want your body to be in the best possible shape for baby making, or to support the baby if you are already pregnant at this point.

Every little bit of water helps ensure a healthy pregnancy. You should drink at least six to eight 8-ounce glasses per day throughout your pregnancy.

Check in with your doctor to find out whether you should continue taking any prescription drugs.

It would be ideal to take a daily multivitamin that contains at least 400 micrograms of folic acid to reduce risk of birth defects.
