There’s nothing more satisfying than a creamy pasta dish that the whole family will want to gobble up! We love this one because the honey garlic sausage adds just a touch of sweetness to perfectly complement the sauteéd veggies. Yum!
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 5 Honey Garlic Sausages, raw
- 1 shallot, finely diced
- 225 g sliced mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 400 g penne pasta
- In a deep saucepan heat 1 tablespoon of the olive oil over medium heat. Squeeze the sausages out of the casing and into the pan. Discard the casing. Break up the sausage into bite size pieces while cooking fully. Once the sausage is fully cooked, transfer to a bowl and set aside.
- Meanwhile, start cooking your pasta according to the package directions in well-salted water.
- Using the same pan with heat turned to medium-low, add the other tablespoon of olive oil. Add the shallots and mushrooms and sauté, stirring often. Once your pan starts to get a bit dry (about 2-3 minutes) add the butter and continue to sauté. Once your mushrooms are nicely soft, add the peas and garlic. Continue sautéing until the peas thaw – about 2 minutes more. Then stir in the cream and season with salt and pepper. Mix in the cooked pasta. Enjoy!
