One of my favourite things to do with my son is make crafts. He loves it! I also love the quality time we spend together doing it. It makes for some great memories. If you’re looking for a fun winter craft to do on a cold snowy day, why not try making these cute Snowman Treat Bags?

These treat bags are perfect for school friends, teachers or even family members such as grandparents or cousins. Plus, they are so easy to make!

Here is what you will need to complete the craft:

  • Popcorn
  • Ziploc Bag of filled with some icing sugar
  • Empty Ziploc bag
  • Card stock paper in White and Black
  • Red Curling Ribbon
  • A Black, Orange and Brown Marker
  • Scissors
  • Tape

First thing we did was pop a bag full of popcorn and let it cool in a bowl. Next, we added a few tablespoons of icing sugar in a Ziploc bag, and added a couple of handfuls of cooled popcorn inside. Then you shake it!!  This was probably my son’s favourite part!! He loved shaking the bag and making sure all the popcorn got coated with the icing sugar.

Once he finished that, I traced 2 round circles (1 medium and 1 large) on white card stock paper and had him cut them out. I also traced a black hat out of the black card stock paper and he cut that out too. Next, he added a face to the snowman using a black marker for the eyes and mouth. Then he used an orange marker for the nose. While he was doing that, I taped the corners back on the Ziploc bag to form a round shape for the body.

Next, I tied some red curling ribbon around the Ziploc bag for the scarf, and curled the ends. My son then taped the black hat to the snowman’s head. Then, using a brown marker, he coloured 2 small strips of the white card stock paper for his stick arms.

Finally, we used some more tape to put it all together. We taped the head to the top of the Ziploc bag, the stick arms to the back of the bag of popcorn, and a larger round circle for the bottom part of his body.

Done! What do you think? Isn’t he super cute?!
