Ben gave me a big hug this afternoon and told me I was the “best mom ever”! So I asked him why I’m the best. Here are his answers (yes, answers! I’m happy I’m recording these moments)
“You buy good groceries.” – What he must mean is that I buy sugary snacks like Fruit Gushers and let him choose his own sweet snacks when he comes with me.
“You have nice necklaces.” – I don’t know what this has to do with being “the best mom ever” but that was a nice compliment!
“I like the sweater you’re wearing.” – Again, nice compliment. I’ll take it!
“You give me lots of hugs and kisses.” – It’s true. I do?
“You let me play MineCraft.” – I do. I’m not letting him play it as much as I used to, and I’m still the “best mom ever”.
“You make me pancakes and tuna sandwiches.” – His two favourite meals these days!
“You read me stories at bedtime.” – I wouldn’t change it for the world.
In return I told him why he was a great son:
“You give me lots of hugs and kisses.”
“You’re creative and full of energy.”
“You listen and help out around the house when daddy and I ask you to.”
“You eat my pancakes and tuna sandwiches.”
“You’re a sweetheart. Daddy and I are very lucky to have you in our lives.”
I could have this conversation with Ben every day!
