William is now on the move! He started to crawl shortly after his first birthday, and he loves every minute of it. I, on the other hand, forgot how stressful a moving baby is!
When Benjamin started to crawl, at around seven months, I was able to contain him and not worry as much about him injuring himself. We were in a condo townhouse with a lot of stairs, but those stairs were easy to block off with gates. We now live in a house with a lot of stairs, but the stairway to the basement is right off the living room. There have been a couple of times when I have turned my back for a second only to turn back around and find Will heading straight for the basement. It’s terrifying! We also have a five-year-old who loves playing down there, and so the door is always left open. Thankfully, our mandatory rule to keep the door closed at all times is so far working. Not only do I have to worry about stairs but I worry about Lego pieces and, this summer, I’ll worry about tiny stones on our patio. There’s much to worry about when a baby starts to move! Baby proofing is in full force!
