William turned 16 months on June 16, 2016. A very special day that went completely over my head until my mom sent me a message near midnight that day wishing him a happy “birthday.” An awesome photo opportunity and social media share passed, but at least I’m acknowledging it now, right?
Will has hit many milestones including crawling, pulling himself up, eating the foods we eat. He also says a few words like “hi”, “up”, “no”, and “ouch”(different from Ben’s first words. Then again, Ben didn’t have an older sibling who pushed him around)! But one very significant milestone he has yet to master is walking. We’re saving on the cost of shoes, sure, but I’m looking forward to the day when my baby boy takes his first steps! He does walk when he holds our hands, and he does coast around the furniture, but he seems to have no interest or confidence walking on his own. I saw my doctor today for an unrelated reason, and she asked about Will. I told her he was still not walking, and she wants him to come in as most babies walk by 15 months.
What age was your baby when he or she walked unassisted? Any late bloomers here? I’d love to hear from you.
